AMIGDALA ATTENDS THE LUX RESEARCH EVENT IN BRUSSELS
On April 4, 2024, Lux Research organized an event aimed at presenting insights into the transformation of the steel sector and aviation, with a focus on decarbonization strategies. Among the attendees were Willem Manders and Frank Wubbolts from TNO’s AMIGDALA project, who visited the event to network with companies and understand their ambitions for decarbonization. Their participation included engaging in discussions with Joel Naeve from Deloitte on April 3rd, enhancing their understanding of Lux’s approach to mapping decarbonization options and pathways.
The event saw a diverse array of participants, including major chemical manufacturers such as Stahl, Mitsui, Lanxess, and Procter & Gamble, along with solution providers like KBR. Key contacts were made with Paolo Bavaj from Stahl, Bernd Haveresch from KBR, Yoichi Yoshizawa from Mitsui, and others, facilitating potential collaborations and knowledge exchange.
One of the highlights of the event was Lux Research’s “Decarbonization Radar,” which categorizes decarbonization options into three buckets of approach: makeshift, retrofit, and transformational. Examples provided for the steel and aviation industries emphasized the importance of considering factors like scale and energy density in selecting feasible decarbonization pathways. AMIGDALA expressed gratitude to Lux Research for organizing the event and providing valuable insights into industry decarbonization efforts.
